We respect other people’s copyright and remove material on a justified request from the rights holder. This page explains what we publish and on what basis, and how to send a complaint.

1. Who we are and who we are not

GameMapa is an independent reference site about video games. We are not affiliated with any game publisher or developer, do not represent them and do not act on their behalf. All game names, logos, trademarks and in-game imagery belong to their respective owners.

2. What exactly we publish

  • Our own material — article text, schematic vector maps, icons and layout. This is our work.
  • Factual data — coordinates of places, location names, numeric values. Individual facts are not protected by copyright; wherever a dataset comes from an open repository, its source and licence are named directly on the map page, in the “Data and licences” block.
  • Third-party material — names, screenshots or image fragments where they are needed to identify the game under discussion. We consider such use referential and minimal, but we do not claim it is covered by any permission from the rights holder.

If you believe a specific item goes beyond these bounds, write to us and we will review it.

3. How to send a complaint

Send a message to the address below including all of the following. An incomplete complaint delays review, because we cannot guess on our own what is protected and by whom.

  1. The work whose rights were infringed — title and description, and a link to the official publication if one exists.
  2. The exact address of the page on our site that carries the material. A link to a section is not enough.
  3. Your contact details: name, organisation, email address.
  4. Confirmation that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act on their behalf.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the information you provide is accurate.
  7. Your signature — handwritten or electronic.

4. What happens next

We review requests in the order received and normally reply within 10 business days. If the complaint is justified, we remove or anonymise the material and inform you. We may ask for clarification if the message does not make clear which material is meant.

We are not a hosting provider within the meaning of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act and have no registered agent. That does not relieve us of reviewing your request — we consider it on the merits.

5. If material was removed by mistake

The author of removed material may send a counter-notice explaining why the removal was mistaken, together with their contact details. We will review it and, if the objection is justified, restore the material and notify both parties.

6. Repeat infringement

If a user’s material is repeatedly removed following justified complaints, we stop accepting material from them.
