How to Fish killscore: every multiplier and how to stack it
Killscore is what separates How to Fish from an ordinary fishing simulator. The game does not grade the fish — it grades how you took it, and multiplies the payout. The most valuable catch in the game is not the biggest fish, it is the prettiest kill.
Single multipliers
- Impressive ×2.00 — granted automatically once the same kill has already collected 5+ other bonuses.
- Explosion ×1.50 — killed by an explosion, dynamite included.
- 360 ×1.50 — rotate at least 320 degrees in under a second before the shot.
- Killsteal ×1.30 — finish off a target someone else was shooting.
- Headshot ×1.25 — a hit to the head.
- Last Bullet ×1.25 — the last round in the magazine.
- One Shot ×1.25 — killed with the first shot.
- Overkill ×1.25 — damage exceeds the target’s health by more than 70. Does not apply to bosses.
- Endangered ×1.25 — killing an endangered species.
- Finally ×1.10 — a long, drawn-out fight.
- Melee ×1.05 — a melee kill.
- Noob Kill ×1.01 — a token bonus for the easiest possible kill.
Mutually exclusive groups
Three groups where you get exactly one bonus even if you technically qualify for two:
- No Scope ×1.20 or Quick Scope ×1.10 — firing from the hip versus firing immediately after aiming.
- Longshot ×1.30 (over 25 units of distance) or Point Blank ×1.10 (under 2 units).
- Dogfight ×1.50, Aerial ×1.25 or Fly Fishing ×1.25 — bonuses for airborne targets and mid-jump shots.
Killstreaks
Multikills use a 3-second window between kills: Double ×1.05, Triple ×1.10, Quad ×1.15, Penta ×1.20, Multi ×1.25. The streak bonus is separate: from ten kills in a row it hits the ×1.50 ceiling and climbs no further.
Stacking Impressive
The simplest recipe that works: take the shotgun, find a flock of seagulls over the water, spin a full 360, and fire from the hip at over 25 units of distance with the last round in the magazine. That is already five bonuses (360, No Scope, Longshot, Last Bullet and Headshot on the hit) — and the game adds Impressive ×2.00 on top.
That recipe is exactly what the “Impressive” achievement asks for — its condition reads “Get a 5x killscore multiplier”, and 81.0% of players have it; “360 no scope” sits at 63.3% (global Steam stats read on 31 August 2026). Both are routine once you know the condition.
Where to spend the money is covered in the beginner guide; which bait suits which target is in the bait table.
Frequently asked questions
What is killscore?
A bonus to the value of a catch based on how you killed it. Multipliers from one shot are multiplied together, so a stylish kill is worth considerably more than a plain one.
Which multiplier is the largest?
Impressive ×2.00, but you cannot aim for it directly: the game grants it once a single kill has already collected five or more other bonuses.
Which bonuses do not stack?
Three groups are mutually exclusive: No Scope and Quick Scope; Longshot and Point Blank; Dogfight, Aerial and Fly Fishing. You get exactly one bonus per group.
How do I unlock 360 no scope?
Rotate at least 320 degrees in under a second and hit without aiming down sights. 63.3% of players have it, per the global Steam achievement stats on 31 August 2026.
Does a killstreak raise the multiplier?
Yes, but it is capped: a streak of 10 or more kills tops out at ×1.50.
