Games similar to How to Fish, according to Steam itself
Contents
Every Steam page has a More like this block. It is not written by the developer — the store builds it from what the same people buy and play. We pulled the whole block: 62 games, in the order Steam itself returns.
The result is not what you would expect from a fishing game.

The headline: there are no fishing games on the list
Not one of the top fourteen is a fishing game. The closest is
theHunter: Call of the Wild, and that is hunting. The rest are co-op shooters,
physics sandboxes and multiplayer arcades.
This directly contradicts how search sees the game. On How to Fish’s own page the
Fishing tag sits third by vote count (228), right behind Multiplayer (283) and
Online Co-Op (257). Players label it a fishing game — and the store algorithm
puts Garry’s Mod and Counter-Strike 2 next to it.
Why that happens
More like this is built on account behaviour, not on genre. It answers “what else is in these people’s libraries”, not “what is similar in content”. How to Fish’s audience is the audience for cheap co-op games with voice chat, and that is exactly what the list returned.
The price cut backs this up: 7 of the 14 entries cost under $6 or are free. The expensive rows — two Call of Duty titles at $69.99 and $39.99, plus World War Z — look like the exception.
How to use it
If you are looking for “more of the same gameplay”, Steam’s list is weak: it leads to shooters. For comparable gameplay, look at comparisons with WEBFISHING, DREDGE and Fishing Planet instead — those match on content, not on audience.
But if you are looking for what else to play with the same group tonight, the list is accurate: PEAK ($3.49), Machine Party ($4.99), Far Far West ($5.99) and RV There Yet? ($3.99) are the same format — cheap, co-op, a few hours an evening.
The limits of this data
We pulled the block anonymously, without signing in. In the browser Steam re-sorts the list for the specific user, dropping what you already own or wishlisted. So your personal order will differ; ours is the baseline, before personalisation.
We did not resolve the remaining 48 entries by name: getting a title, price and review count requires a separate Steam request for each one.
