Red Dead Online Role Profit Calculator

Work out Trader and Moonshiner role profit in Red Dead Online, in in-game dollars per delivery or batch and per real-world hour.

Trader: profit per delivery

Wagon load size, upgrade status and delivery type determine the profit from a single delivery.

The source only says "more than 20%" premium for distant delivery - shown conservatively at exactly that lower bound; the real bonus may be higher.

Delivery time was not entered - "$/hour with delivery" is hidden rather than showing an invented number.

The calculation excludes the time and cost of refilling the supply bar (resupply).

Moonshiner: profit per batch

Pick a recipe, story-mission status and mash cost, and compare all 10 recipes.

Adds +10% to the sale price of every recipe.
Base $60, story missions lower it to $50, bootlegger missions to $10.

How we calculate

Trader: materials cost and production time are calculated from the per-unit price and the wagon load size (25-100 units), the sale price depends on the delivery wagon upgrade (base $2.5 to upgraded $5 per unit), and distant delivery adds the documented lower bound of the premium, +20% (the source only says "more than 20%", it does not print a more precise figure).

Moonshiner: profit per batch equals the sale price of the chosen recipe (story bonus +10% once all 5 missions are done) minus the mash cost ($10-60). Neither source publishes the minutes for one Trader delivery or one Moonshiner batch - those are fields you fill in yourself; without them the "$/hour" figure is simply not shown, rather than being an invented number.

Questions and answers

Where does the Trader sale price of $2.5 to $5 per unit come from?

From the Trader (Red Dead Online) wiki page: the base unit price is $2.5, and with a fully upgraded delivery wagon it is $5. Materials cost $2 per unit, and production takes 2 real-world minutes per unit.

Why does distant delivery add exactly +20% and not more?

The source states plainly "more than an additional twenty percent" and does not publish a more precise figure. The calculator conservatively uses the documented lower bound of +20% and notes explicitly that the real bonus may be higher.

Why is there no default "delivery/brewing time" field?

Neither the Trader nor the Moonshiner wiki page publishes minutes for a single delivery or batch. Instead of an invented number, that is a field you fill in - without it, only the profit per delivery/batch is shown, and "$/hour" is simply not computed.

Why is Gold per run or per sale marked "not established" instead of 0?

Neither page mentions Gold Bars for routine Trader deliveries or Moonshiner sales. Showing zero would assert "no Gold is paid", which we have not verified - so it is more honest to say "not established" outright.

Which Moonshiner recipes are available immediately, and which need unlocking?

Berry Mint, Tropical Punch, Wild Cider and Evergreen are available immediately. The rest require progress: Apple Berry Crumb needs story mission 3, Berry Cobbler needs rank 2, Wild Creek needs rank 6, Agarita Sunrise needs story mission 5, Spiced Island needs rank 12, and Poison Poppy’s comes from a rare random encounter.
