The median sits below the mean — the usual shape when a small group plays far longer than everyone else. Half the review authors have under 8 hours, half have more.

Three things the distribution shows
Almost nobody bounces off immediately. Only 6 of 600 reviews (1.0%) were written with under an hour played. On Steam that is notably low: the “launched it, disliked it, refunded it” share is usually bigger.
There is no ceiling, but there is no marathon either. The maximum is 49.2 hours, and not a single review in 600 crosses 50. For a game with co-op and 28 achievements, that means the content ends rather than looping forever.
The tail is thin. The 20-50 hour band is 37 people, 6.2 percent. They are what drags the mean from 8 up to 9.5 hours.
What an hour costs
The base price is 7.99 dollars. Against a median of 8 hours that is exactly one dollar per hour.
That is arithmetic on price and median, not a verdict on whether the game is worth it. How many hours you personally get depends on whether you chase all 28 achievements and whether you play co-op.
Why these numbers cannot be trusted completely
The sample is not random. Steam serves reviews in its own order — by helpfulness, by date, by whatever internal rules apply. We took 600 in a row, not 600 drawn at random from 43,770. So this describes 600 specific reviews, not a rigorous slice of the whole base.
Review authors are not all players. Only a minority of buyers write a review at all. People who quit after 20 minutes and said nothing never entered our table.
Playtime is recorded as of the moment the review was written. If somebody posted at the two-hour mark and then played twenty more, Steam still returns the smaller figure for our query.
For those reasons we deliberately avoid the sentence “the game takes 8 hours to beat”. The correct phrasing is different: in our 600-review sample, the median playtime is 8 hours.
