1.0.4 — 21 August
The largest patch of the first week:
- lobbies of up to 8 players instead of four;
- pufferfish and whale nerfed;
- the path to the final island made easier to see;
- fixed the black screen when joining a lobby and the grey screen at start, by no longer forcing fullscreen;
- fixed the permanent boss timer and the permanent revive text;
- special characters banned from server names — they broke the save file;
- fixed the achievement for killing the final boss bare-handed.
1.0.5 — 22 August
- private, invite-only lobbies;
- session type changeable in-game, with a restart;
- invert X and invert Y;
- minimum locked frame rate lowered from 50 to 30;
- fixed travelling to any island without unlocking it;
- skins no longer invisible in slot machines at 4K;
- the drip achievement no longer requires all plus one;
- griefers can no longer instantly end the game by joining a lobby.
1.0.6 — 23 August
The save-file patch:
- the game validates the save before loading, which removed the fake servers carrying the default name;
- saving no longer happens on a crash, only on the Save, Main Menu and Quit buttons;
- autosave every minute stays, so even a crash costs little progress.
1.0.8 — 24 August
A two-line patch: correct PlayStation controller glyphs, and the fire sizzling sound tied to the FX volume slider.
1.0.9 — 24 August
- difficulty in the main menu and in-game, defaulting to the previous setting;
- Easy: enemies get 25% less health and 50% less damage. Hard: 25% more health and 25% more damage;
- Steam connection diagnostics in the main menu;
- corrupted save files — the developers wrote that they hope it is fixed, and that is exactly how the patch note words it.
1.0.10 — 27 August
The latest as of 31 August:
- dropped items persist between sessions — up to 64, prioritising weapons, tools, quest items and creatures;
- weapons and tools no longer stay in cooking when dipped in water;
- anglerfish nerfed;
- the X marker removed from the radar — it showed where you last died and was simply confusing;
- explosion velocity limited;
- rich text removed from chat — it was a griefer exploit;
- last-played time now stored in UTC;
- fixed the roulette ticking forever at high values;
- the game version is now printed to player.log;
- connection timeout increased;
- fixed items falling through the level on load or join.
What we are not claiming
We do not know whether a 1.0.7 build existed — no post covers it. The developers have announced no plans for the next patch.
