Vice City in GTA 6: What Rockstar Has Confirmed
Contents
Everything Rockstar has said officially about Vice City fits on one page of its site — Only in Leonida: a short description, three descriptive words, and four locations named by name. That’s the whole picture below, nothing added.
The main caveat for this entire piece comes first: Rockstar hasn’t published an official map of Leonida. The media library at rockstargames.com/VI/media has sections for Videos, Clips, Screenshots, Ultimate Edition Benefits, Vintage Vice City Pack, and Artwork & Wallpapers — no map among them (checked 28 August 2026). So there’s no “city plan” here — just a list of what’s been named in words.
How Rockstar describes the city itself
In the official description, Vice City is still America’s capital of sun and excess. In the same sentence, Rockstar adds that a lot of time has passed since the 1980s.
The studio sums the city up in three words: glamour, hustle, and greed — that’s Rockstar’s own phrasing. The city itself is presented as a distillation of America, compressed into the limits of one city.
That’s the entire official description. No plot, no characters, no mechanics — and we won’t be filling those gaps in ourselves.
Locations named by name
Rockstar names four Vice City locations directly:
| Location | What’s officially said about it |
|---|---|
| Ocean Beach | Pastel art deco hotels and white sand |
| Little Cuba | A district with panadería bakeries |
| Tisha-Wocka | A flea market that sells knock-off brands |
| VC Port | A port Rockstar calls the cruise capital of the world |
No other district, street, or venue in Vice City has been named officially. If you come across a long list of neighbourhoods elsewhere, it isn’t sourced from here.
What the official images show
Images sit alongside the text on the page. Among the Vice City shots:
- a couple on a balcony overlooking a pool and the beach;
- a plane flying over a Vice City sign;
- characters Boobie and Dre’Quan — Boobie sitting at a table with a stack of cash and a gun on it.
Who these people are in the story, how they connect to the rest of the cast, and what’s happening in the scene — Rockstar doesn’t explain on the page. We’ve covered the characters separately: Boobie Ike and the rest of the GTA 6 characters.
Vice City and the rest of the state
The Only in Leonida page is built as a list of state areas. There are exactly six:
| # | Area |
|---|---|
| 1 | Vice City |
| 2 | Leonida Keys |
| 3 | Grassrivers |
| 4 | Port Gellhorn |
| 5 | Ambrosia |
| 6 | Mount Kalaga |
Each area follows the same structure: a heading, a short subheading, a description paragraph, and an Explore button named after the location, which opens a video.
The hierarchy is set officially, too. The section’s subheading describes Leonida as home to Vice City’s neon-lit streets — and what lies beyond them. In other words, Vice City is the centre, and the other five areas are framed as what’s outside the city. We’ve covered a neighbouring area separately: Leonida Keys.
What we’re not claiming
This is the most important part. Here’s what isn’t in the official materials — and why we’re not writing it:
- The year the story is set in. Rockstar hasn’t given an exact date. There’s only the note that a lot of time has passed since the 1980s.
- The map’s size. No figures at all — no square kilometres, no comparisons to previous games.
- A full list of districts. Four locations are named. Anything beyond that isn’t from an official source.
- How the areas connect. Whether there’s unbroken land between Vice City and the rest of the state, or where the boundaries fall, hasn’t been said.
- Story and missions in Vice City. The official description of the city is silent on this.
- What exactly the trailer showed. The Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look showcase is dated on the site to 27 August 2026 and is credited as captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. But Rockstar hasn’t published a written, shot-by-shot breakdown of it — so we won’t be recounting the video as “officially confirmed detail.”
If you come across text listing districts, map size, or a setting year, it isn’t sourced from Rockstar. We’ve covered which sources we treat as primary in a separate piece: official sources on GTA 6.
How to check this yourself
You don’t have to take our word for it. The steps are simple:
- Open rockstargames.com and find the Only in Leonida section. This is the primary source for everything written above about the city.
- Count the areas. There should be six, each with its own heading and Explore button.
- Read the Vice City paragraph in full. Compare it against our location table — Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, Tisha-Wocka, and VC Port should all match.
- Check the media library at rockstargames.com/VI/media. Look at the section names. There’s no map there — easy to verify in under a minute.
- Treat anything you don’t find on those two pages as unconfirmed. No matter how confidently it’s stated elsewhere.
On the date and platforms
Since this comes up in every GTA 6 piece: the game releases on 19 November 2026, a date Rockstar displays as its own block on the game’s official pages. The platforms listed there are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC isn’t among them.
That applies to the game as a whole, not Vice City specifically. We’re not making any promises about Rockstar showing a map, individual districts, or a fuller city description between now and launch — the studio hasn’t announced any such plans. Whether or when an official map might appear is unknown; our piece on the GTA 6 map holds to the same line.
In short
Officially, here’s what’s known about Vice City: it’s the main city of Leonida, described by Rockstar through glamour, hustle, and greed, with four named locations — Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, Tisha-Wocka, and VC Port. Rockstar hasn’t published a map of Leonida, and everything above is the entire official record on the region as of 28 August 2026.
