The short version: How to Fish ships in sixteen languages, and every one of them has full voice-over — not subtitles only. The Steam store page states it directly.

The full list

All 16 languages carry an asterisk on the store page, and in Steam that asterisk means languages with full audio support:

Language Full audio
English yes
French yes
Italian yes
German yes
Spanish (Spain) yes
Spanish (Latin America) yes
Portuguese (Brazil) yes
Polish yes
Russian yes
Ukrainian yes
Swedish yes
Turkish yes
Japanese yes
Korean yes
Simplified Chinese yes
Traditional Chinese yes

For an indie game that is unusually broad. Dazed Games develop and self-publish, and plenty of far larger releases do not ship sixteen dubs.

How to switch language

  1. Open your Steam library.
  2. Right-click How to Fish and choose Properties.
  3. Go to the General tab and find the Language section.
  4. Pick a language. Steam downloads the files it needs.

The developers have not described a separate in-game language switch in any patch note.

What else is configurable

Beyond language, several options arrived after launch:

  • Invert axis X and Y — added in patch 1.0.5 on 22 August.
  • Per-effect volume — patch 1.0.8 tied the fire sizzling sound to the FX volume slider, which it had been ignoring.
  • Easy / Hard difficulty — patch 1.0.9, both in the main menu and mid-game.

What we are not claiming

We have not judged the quality of any individual dub by ear, and we do not know whether more languages are planned. No announcement covers that.
