GTA 6 costs $79.99 in the standard edition and $99.99 in Ultimate. In the UK that is £69.99 and £89.99; in the eurozone €79.99 and €99.99.

Below is what the number alone does not tell you: what the upgrade actually contains, what to watch for in the pre-order, and why the boxed version is not what it looks like.

Prices for every edition

Edition US UK Eurozone
Standard (digital) $79.99 £69.99 €79.99
Ultimate (digital) $99.99 £89.99 €99.99

For comparison in other markets: 349 / 429 zł in Poland and 3,499 / 4,299 UAH in Ukraine.

Rockstar sets the price separately for each country, so converting dollars at the exchange rate tells you nothing — a local price is not derived from the American one.

What Ultimate actually gives you for $20

The full official list runs to 11 packs and 5 businesses. In brief:

  • vehicles — the 1995 Grotti Cheetah, a Dinka Enduro motorcycle, a Crest kayak, the Vapid Ganado pickup, the Shitzu Squalo boat and the 1967 Vapid Dominator buggy with its garage;
  • weapons — the Hawk & Little Morgan revolver in two variants plus the personalised Girardi ES9 and Klose K17 pistols;
  • appearance — clothing, hairstyles and tattoos in Vice City style, plus the Goodtime Gear collection;
  • activities — a raid on the PTT Youngin$ gang compound and a classic car collection commission;
  • five businesses the store explicitly marks as only operating with Ultimate: Rideout Customs, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo and One-Eyed Willie’s.

An honest assessment: this is more than cosmetics, but less than more game. There is no extra story, no new part of the map and no early access. The players who gain are the ones who live in GTA’s tuning and customisation; anyone who finishes the story and shelves the game will have overpaid.

⚠️ Worth knowing: the same store page shows a different number of items depending on the language you open it in — the Russian-language version lists only 8 of the 16 and breaks off mid-word. We reconciled the full list in our separate Ultimate Edition breakdown.

One more note: items of this kind in previous GTA titles have over time made their way into the in-game store or into seasonal online events. There is no guarantee the same will happen here — but “your last chance to get this car” is a sales argument, not a fact.

What the pre-order includes

The pre-order contains two bonuses:

  1. The Vintage Vice City Pack — vehicles, clothing sets and weapon skins that nod to Tommy Vercetti from Vice City.
  2. One month of GTA+.

⚠️ Two things worth knowing before you press the button:

  • GTA+ renews automatically as a paid subscription after the free month unless you cancel it yourself. It has to be redeemed by 31 March 2027. Full breakdown in our GTA+ subscription guide.
  • The last day the bonus is still granted is 19 November — release day itself. Sony’s official terms phrase it as “before November 20, 2026”, so the 20th is too late. There is no need to order a month ahead, but leaving it to the last evening is a risk.
  • The bonus covers digital editions only. Sony’s terms recognise only the digital Standard and Ultimate as eligible — a boxed copy earns you neither the pack nor the GTA+ month.

⚠️ A warning about the seller contradicting itself: the game’s PlayStation Store page says “purchase before 20 November”, while the GTA+ block on that same page says the offer runs “until 19 November 2026”. We went with Sony’s official terms page, which the store itself links to: it says “before November 20”, making 19 November the last day you can buy.

A step-by-step walkthrough of the process — which dates matter, when preloading starts and why the store displays 18 November — is in our guide on how to pre-order GTA 6.

The pre-order does not grant early access. The game unlocks at midnight on 19 November local time — equally for someone who ordered in June and for someone who buys it that same evening.

Where to buy

Digital: the PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store, depending on your console. Rockstar sets the price there and the stores do not compete with each other — there will be no launch discounts.

As for boxed editions, the main thing to know is this: there is no disc in the box, only a download code. This is no longer second-hand reporting — it is stated on the Rockstar Store page itself, and they give the reason there too: so that box buyers can start preloading on 12 November 2026 as well. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick had said the same earlier, explaining that the company’s business is “well more than 90% digital” and that discs “don’t really make sense for the consumer”.

The practical consequences, if you were thinking about a box:

  • the game cannot be resold or lent — the code is single-use and binds to an account;
  • you still have to download the whole thing, so a box saves you no bandwidth;
  • the only thing you physically get is the packaging.

If you are buying it as a gift, a code in a box makes sense, because you can hand it over. In every other case the digital version does exactly the same job.

Is it worth buying in a cheaper region

GTA 6 prices differ between countries, and advice on “how to buy it cheaper through another region” is easy to find online. Three things that advice leaves out:

  1. Buying outside your account’s region breaks the rules of the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store.
  2. The consequence can be your account being blocked — together with the entire library you bought previously, not just this game.
  3. Sellers of “keys from other regions” are not a party you can bring a claim against if the code does not work.

Saving a few tens of dollars against the risk of losing an entire account is a bad trade. We do not recommend it.

The summary in one sentence

$79.99 gets you the complete game; the extra $20 buys 11 packs and five businesses — more than cosmetics, but not more game; and the box is the same download, just in cardboard.

Frequently asked questions

How much does GTA 6 cost?

$79.99 for the standard edition and $99.99 for Ultimate. In the UK it is £69.99 and £89.99; in the eurozone €79.99 and €99.99. Rockstar sets the price per region, so stores do not compete on it.

Is the Ultimate edition worth the extra $20?

For that difference you get 11 packs (vehicles, weapons, clothing) and five businesses that do not operate without Ultimate. There is no extra story, no extra map and no early access. The full list is in our separate Ultimate Edition breakdown.

What does pre-ordering GTA 6 give you?

The Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+. It does not give early access — the game unlocks at midnight on 19 November for everyone alike.

Is there a disc in the boxed version?

No. The box contains only a download code — that is stated on the Rockstar Store page, and they give the reason themselves: so that box buyers can start preloading on 12 November too.

Can I buy GTA 6 cheaper in another region?

Prices differ between countries, but buying outside your own region breaks the store's rules and risks your account being blocked along with your whole library. We do not recommend it.
